The final narrative in Surah Al-Kahf recounts the experiences of the just ruler, Dhul-Qarnayn, who traversed distant lands with wisdom and justice. The actions of Khidr, though seemingly inexplicable to Moses, hold profound wisdom and divine knowledge, teaching believers to trust in Allah’s greater plan even during times of uncertainty. The chapter also features the encounter between Prophet Moses and the enigmatic figure, Khidr. This story emphasizes the fleeting nature of worldly possessions and highlights that true wealth lies in one’s faith and good deeds, rather than material wealth. In an astonishing divine act, Allah protected them during their slumber for an extended period, preserving their faith until their eventual awakening.Īnother narrative within Surah Al-Kahf revolves around the tale of the rich and the poor. The name “Kahf” is derived from the story of the “People of the Cave,” a group of devout youths who sought refuge in a cave to escape persecution for their beliefs. This chapter, comprising 110 verses, touches upon significant themes, including faith, trials, materialism, humility, and the pursuit of knowledge. Nd as narrated by Sayyidna Abu Said (رض) ، the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, “Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf in full on the day of Jumu’ah will have light for him until the next Jumu’ah.Surah Kahf, known as “The Cave,” is the 18th chapter of the Holy Quran and carries profound spiritual messages that resonate with Muslims worldwide.

And if Dajjal appears, he will stay safe against the trying challenges released by him as well.” (All these narrative reports have been taken from Tafsir ibn Kathir) This light will serve him well on the day of Qiyamah, and every sin com¬mitted by him between the past and the present Jumu’ah will be forgiv¬en.” (Imam Ibn Kathir has declared this report to be mawquf (a Hadith the narration of which stops at a Sahabi and does not ascend to the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)).Īnd Hafiz Zya’ al-Maqdisi, in his book Al-Mukhtarah, has reported on the authority of Sayyidna ` Ali (رض) that the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, “One who recites Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah will remain protected from every fitnah. It appears in some narratives that a person who recites Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah will have light from his feet up to the sky.
